Comprehensive means including everything – that is examining and treating the whole system which comprises of teeth, bone (jaw) and muscles and not just teeth alone.
Ideally every dental treatment should follow a comprehensive examination. But time and economic constraints might make this impractical for everybody. So individual with the following conditions require a comprehensive approach.
- A: Those who understand the concept behind comprehensive dentistry and want it voluntarily because they realize that it is the ideal way.
- B: Those who have signs and symptoms like headache, joint pain, vertigo, migraine along with dental problems
- C: Those who require extensive dental procedure like multiple crowns (Caps) and bridges, implants and orthodontic treatment.
- D: Those who have existing TMJ problems
